The MAT-Finance Awards, supported by IMP Software and in partnership with Schools Week, provides a unique platform for MAT-finance professionals to celebrate their hard work, share best practices, and showcase their incredible impact.

These awards solely focus on the achievements of MAT-finance leaders, teams and wider Trust champions, and are open to anyone in any multi-academy trust or school within that Trust. We are looking for the unsung heroes, as well as leading lights, to come forward with their nominations for our six award categories.

Leora Cruddas, CEO, Confederation of School Trusts (CST)

Leora Cruddas is CEO of the Confederation of School Trusts – the national organisation and sector body for school trusts in England. She has advised successive governments and sits on several DfE Advisory Bodies. She was recently the vice chair of the Head Teacher Standards Review Group. Prior to founding CST, she was Director of Policy and Public Relations for the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) where she authored the Blueprint for a Self-Improving System and set up the Ethical Leadership Commission. Leora has six years of experience as a Director of Education in two London Local Authorities. She is Visiting Professor at UCL Institute of Education.

Stephen Morales, Chief Executive, Institute of School Business Leadership

Stephen has a 20-year career history in operations and finance, working at a senior level in the public and private sectors, both in the UK and abroad. Stephen presided over the development and implementation of nationally recognised school business leadership professional standards and led the transition from the National Association of School Business Management to the Institute of School Business Leadership. Stephen works closely with the Department for Education in areas of policy reform, and his commitment to research to aid our self-improving system includes ongoing engagement with international jurisdictions including Australia, Europe, the Middle East and the US.

Dan Morrow, Chief Executive Officer and Trust Leader, Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust

Dan Morrow arrived as our new Trust Leader and CEO in January 2021, having previously been the Trust Leader and CEO for Woodland Academy Trust. Dan moved into education motivated by a desire to give back. His appointments to date have enabled him to make a difference in a huge variety of schooling and civic contexts. He is extremely excited about the challenges and opportunities which working across Dartmoor will bring. Following his own experience of being a free school meals pupil and the first in his family to go to university, gaining a place at Oxford University reading History, Dan is a strong believer in breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for pupils to fulfill their ambitions and achieve their potential. Equally, he is dedicated to delivering a positive and sustained impact for the local communities we serve.

Will Jordan , Co-founder & CEO, IMP Software

Will Jordan FCCA has worked with Academies and MATs since the first ‘phase two’ Academies opened in September 2010. As a Qualified Accountant and Financial Technology specialist, Will now works with established Multi-Academy Trusts to strengthen their financial planning and reporting processes by replacing legacy software with MAT specific, agile tools.

Adeel Sahi, CFOO, Epworth Education Trust

Adeel is the CFOO at Epworth Education Trust. He is responsible for the strategic overview of Finance and Operations across the trust. He has worked in the academy sector for over 13 years, starting as a Finance Assistant and working his way up to CFO, thus developing a robust view of how efficient Finance functions and processes should work. Along this journey, he has worked across several MATs consisting of Primary and Secondary schools. As a qualified accountant, he takes great pride in looking beyond the numbers when it comes to the education sector.

Pam Tuckett, Partner & Head of Education, Bishop Fleming

As Head of Education for Bishop Fleming, Pam is extremely passionate about the education sector and leads Bishop Fleming’s advisory work in the academy sector. Pam is a Trustee of The Confederation of Schools Trust, the charity that advocates for the academy sector, and also a Trustee of Westcountry Schools Trust, with 24 schools in the South West. Pam is a genuine expert and trusted adviser in the academy sector. She is well connected and regularly writes thought leadership articles.
